Resilience—the capacity to bend with the wind, go with the flow, bounce back from adversity, is essential to the survival and thriving of human beings and human societies.—LINDA GRAHAM
Your body’s nervous system handles what Linda Graham describes as resilience. Your nervous system is made out of your “calm” or parasympathetic nervous system and your “autonomic” or sympathetic (flight/fight/freeze) nervous system. In the words of your nervous system, your body is resilient if it can shift flexibly from parasympathetic (“calm”) to sympathetic (“activated”) and back to a calm state as needed during the day.
The videos describe a couple of strategies you can use to train your nervous system to shift from “activated” to calm. Enjoy!
Warmly,
Sibylle
